Baja Trailing Arm

In order to strengthen the trailing arm, I changed it's shape. Rather than a simple rectangle, I used a flared shape that is widest at the point where the shock connects to - and create force on - the trailing arm.

My new trailing arm was manufactured and used at our 2016 winter competition, where it made it through the entire competition without deforming.

At the 2015 spring competition, our trailing arm - one of the most important components of rear suspension - bent when the car rolled. The following year, I was tasked with designing a new trailing arm that would not bend.
